Mattie Silks artisan soap is inspired by the historical novel "The Redemption of Mattie Silks" by Kimberly Burns. The soap is the olfactory companion to the tale of the Old West's most successful madam, Mattie Silks, and her feud with a murdering con man with the charming name of Soapy Smith.
This soap is scented with the historically accurate fragrance of Florida Water - a popular curative of the time. It was used for everything from perfume to cleaning, to medicine. It was used for freshening up clothing and bedding as well as mouthwash. The fragrance notes include citrus like sweet orange, neroli, bergamot and lemon; spices like cinnamon and clove; and floral lavender, rose and jasmine. It is naturally colored with silky rose clay and activated charcoal.
Choose our classic white wrap-around label, a blue wrap like Soapy Smith used in the novel, or "naked" with no label at all.
